Question large chunk missing in bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Just got a epiphone thunderbird shipped to me that was damaged during shipping. Has about a 1-inch chunk missing outta the top of it's kinda deep too. Anyone have any suggestions an a filler or something that will keep it from growing larger. I'm a noob so I have no idea what to do!

I'm not a bass expert but I am in the building trade, a plasterer in fact.

To help secure the filler I'd think about putting in a small screw in the hole but dont fix it in too deep, just enough to go below the finished surface with some filler on top.

This would give the filler something else to grip onto.

Make sure the screw wont rust!

MOST IMPORTANT PLEASE CHECK WITH SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE IF THE SCREW WOULD EFFECT THE SOUND

I personally don't think so as the fixings on guitar/bass are secured with screws.

PS You are not a nobb. A nobb would have had a go at fixing the bass without advice.
