hi guys, i play a lefthanded MIM jazz bass, it has a rosewood fingerboard, that i am SERIOUSLY bored of now!!! i wanna get a maple fretboard, wiv block inlays and bound sides from http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/b...ksallparts.htm
but they only come RIGHT HANDED! will it fit ok in my bass? will the strings be ok strung lefthanded? im sure the E string will benefit from the extra length!
please advise guys! |

1. if the neck has an asymmetrical curve on backside of it. if not, then:
2. the nut and
3. the mounting holes
But it appears you would have to drill the mounting holes and install your own nut. Still contact AllParts to be sure of the fit with the body. |

The pickups will work fine as they are. There is no orientation for low to high strings with pickups.

Still, you have to admit it's funny that some people still believe that one. Me, I'm still waiting for a set of strings that are wound in the opposite direction so I can sound more like a righty!

I know Fender Custom Shop puts a lot of Lefty necks on righty basses for players who want a 4-string but want to tune down . As you said, keeps the E- (or whatever you wish to tune down to) tighter.
Since you have to put a nut on it anyway, alefty nust will fit as well as a righty. |

I wonder how they do that. I've only been able to fit one neck on a bass at a time......
