Keep in mind that I 've no personal experience with BA-IIs, this is just what I've gleaned from quite a number of posts here and on other forums.

I don't think it's that it won't work with a MIM specifcally, I've seen a number of people saying they've tried it on their basses (of whatever type), and that it basically did nothing like it's supposed to except maybe add a little sustain. I've read many that say it did nothing to improve the tone, and in a few cases, actually worsened it, dissatisfied with it to the point where they took it off and put back the old bridge. It's not that it doesn't work with MIMS, it's that it doesn't work, period. Could be why I see so many BA-IIs for sale.
For me, this has caused me enough doubt, that I wouldn't evenn consider installing one on any of my basses. The stock bridges work just fine as is, IMO.

I installed one on my MIM fetless years ago, the saddles professionally notched (though this is not strictly necessary, as they will groove on their own in time) and it is a stable bridge that provides for very low action. I honestly don't think it added anything to the tone of the instrument, but it is a rock solid bridge, and the nickel patina is aging nicely. That said, I may remove it and sell it on the boards here, as it is a tad heavy on an already not-light though otherwise wonderful MIM.

I'm not a fan of baddass bridges. Yes Ive had them on a couple basses. Replaced them with others I like better tone wise. The baddass bridges to me add too much treble zing and the uncut string grooves for saddles is silly imo. I like the hipshot a style brass bridges a lot. Just recently replaced the stock chrome bridge on my eagle with a black hipshot A style, brass version. Nicer bridge imo with top load, some adjustment for string spaceing, and more even tone. Just a little lower priced then baddass bridges to.

I have one on an ash jazz bass body and having never used one before this I have two observations: lots of treble zing, this body has some Rio Grande pickups in it which are not high output resulting in me cranking up my mid low and lows and; actual noticeable sustain improvement. Not that I really care but I could tell that my notes held longer at a more consistent volume.

I use Wilkinson bridges on my other basses but I'll let this one ride for a while. But I don't love the look and the whole slot thing is totally annoying.
