Question Leo quan badass bridge replacements???

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello everybody,

as many of you might know the leo quan badass bridges have been getting really hard to find and the prices that they get sold for are also getting higher(just watched an auction for one going all the way up to 200$).

I have been putting a couple of custom projects together and I have been thinking of using a badass2 for a j-bass and a badass3(because of the through body stringing option) for an 51 p/tele bass but since I am not looking on spending more on a bridge than I would pay for pickups I would like to ask the following questions.

1) Do you know any bass bridges with similar attributes that I could use instead. Right now I am seriously considering the following:
a)Schaller 3d
b)Schaller 2000
c)Hipshot a-style
d)Babicz full contact
e)Fender high mass(the one that the american standard series have)
f)Fender roscoe beck bridge
g)Fender bigblock p bass bridge(I am guessing that by now you know where I get my parts from)

If you have any experience with the above please share. If you have experience with a badass and you can make a comparison even better. Other suggestions are also welcome.

My currently main bass has a badass2 bridge and I am really used to it and I also love the look and feel of it(It have always had that so I cant say that much about the tone, but I am also pretty pleased with that) so here come the annoying questions 2 and 3

2)Does anyone know any place where I can buy a badass bridge in a reasonable price? I have been doing a lot of searching but came up empty handed(almost). I know beggars cant be choosers but I want them in chrome(I have found some gold ones, but i really dont like the idea of anything gold on my basses)

3)Is there any guys that are willing to sell one.Man I will buy them right off(If your price is reasonable enough)

R&R's out of stock :-(

Gotoh 201-4 Gotoh 201 4 String

Song-Il Bass Bridge - Four String Bass Bridge

The Song-Il bridges are actually use on the Carvin SB4000 and it's also used on the Brubaker Brute. I've used the 4 and 5 string versions and they work well and are inexpensive. ($27.50)

Best of luck,

Bob

Of the ones you listed Id pick hipshot. Though I like the gotoh 201 bridge better.
