Leo Quan BadAss II with fernandes basses?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm about to purchase the BA II pre-notched bridge for my fernandes Gravity 4X. I am moderately content with the bridge right now but the saddles move side to side and that can get annoying sometimes...
does anyone know if the fernandes bridge is similar to a fender bridge? they look similar and the screw spacing looks about the same.
Also, is it safer for me to get a unnotched one and then get a luthier to notch it for me, or use the pre nothced ones sold at bestbassgear.com
It's a bit of a pain to get to a nearby music store for me, so I am trying to do as much as I can on my own...
a lot of questions, thanks for looking

I went ahead and had a guitar tech put on a pre slotted version of it.
pluses and minuses in my opinion, and I am thinking of taking it back off depending on the effect that lighter strings will have on it (i currently use d'addario heavies"

plus:
fuller richer more solid tone
slightly stronger 5th fret harmonics

minus:
action is set at the lowest the saddles can go and its still higher than the stock bridge. playing stuff fast has become harder, and since I'm just getting on with slap, I don't like where the action is at + the heavy gauge.

SO
I will try on some light or med slinkies and see waht I come up with!
the guitar tech said that the BA fit the stock bridge holes like gloves, so thats good news.
