Looking for a Fender truss rod nut...

Sign in to disble this ad
... for a '95-'96 American Standard Precision... It's the kind that takes a 3/16" allen wrench for adjustment, and is at the heel of the neck... Thanks for any help in advance...

How do you go about replacing a truss rod nut? Would be interested in knowing.

Unscrew the old one. Discard. Screw on the new one. Done.

But this is a nut. It must be attached on the other end for people to be able to use it to adjust the truss rod. So, how does it attach to the truss rod and stay firm while adjusting the truss rod? I'm not getting it.

It threads onto to the trussrod to create the proper tension on the neck...

The truss rod has an inch or so of threads(probably less) on the end that you adjust. All adjusting does is move the nut more into the neck(creating backbow) and loosening just takes pressure off the wood, creating forward bow.
