Loose control knobs on MTD 535

Hi

I've got a MTD 535 with two of five loose control knobs. They still work, but I would think that sooner or later wires which are connected to the control pots will break. Anybody know how I go about tightning them? I don't dare pull of the control knobs as I'm afraid they will drop of when putting back on again. I can't seem to find anything to tighten in the control cavity.
