loose pup... Help!!!!

i bought myself a new guitar (jazz bass) and everything was fine but then I realised that one of the pups was loose. now I'm not sure if I should tighten the screws! are the pups supposed to be loose or somethin' else???

you need to make sure that the foam underneath is thick enough to support the pickup, some manufacturers also put springs on the screws which is IMO moronic.
