Loose saddle screws

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an SX J bass with a Gotoh 201 bridge. The saddle screws are so loose that I always have to re-set the action after changing the strings. Is there a way of making the screws more "snug" so that they don't "re-adjust" themselves.

Thanks

E

I thought of doing that but I don't think it would be a good idea to go that route. Seems a bit tooo permanent to me.

Yes. There is an automotive product made by Loc-Tite for that very purpose. Any automotive supply store should have it.

pkr2 is referring to loctite medium strength "blue" threadlocker. goops up the threads enough to stabilize from backing out on their own or vibration. use sparingly 1 drop for your application. no need for more.

*do not* use the red, high strength version 'cause heat (as in torch) is required to remove. auto/motorcycle only for this stuff.
