Question loosen saddle

Sign in to disble this ad
the G string bridge saddle of my fender jazz seems to be a bit loosen (i can move it, separate it from the D saddle with not much effort). Im just thinking if there is some kind of decrease in sound/vibration, or the saddle´s presure against the bridge does not affect at all..

Is it moving around easy with string tuned to pitch? Thats not normal. Is normal for them outer ones to be moveable easy when strings are loose. String preassure helps keep bridge saddle firmly in place when tuned. Yes how well bridge assembly presses against bridge plate does affect sound transfer. Locking saddle bridges are the best imo. But well made regular ones work fine to. Its not normal for the saddles to move when strings are on and tuned.
