I'm looking to replace a Badass II with a regular low mass bridge, but I'd like one that will function nicely ... saddles stay in place, easy to adjust and load. I don't like the threaded lug saddles on my '62 RI or I'd just order one of those ...
I'm wondering what my options are, and what exactly is the weight and material used on a vintage fender bridge?
This Gotoh looks nice, but I'm wondering if it is heavier than a regular fender? It is 5.5oz. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,...s.html#details
This hipshot looks cool, but it says it is made out of "heavy duty brass" ... http://www.hipshotproducts.com/cart....t_detail&p=209 |

It's brass, but not a lot of brass and it's a quick loader. If you're concerned about the weight, call them up and ask how much it weighs. I've called with a couple of questions and the people at Hipshot are really freakin' cool.

It's similar to a Fender American Series bridge, but I think slightly thicker (especially at the rear where the strings pass through for top loading), and thus probably marginally heavier.

I'm going for something as close as possible in mass to a 70's Fender bridge ... |

I have a couple of these and they work very well.
