Lowering strings on 6 string bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I have looked thru the sticky links and went thru reading the Gary Wills set up info. I just ordered a 6 string bass a couple weeks ago and I noticed a buzz on a couple strings mostly around the first couple frts and ocassionaly I could get the D to buzz open. I took it to my LMS and the guy there said it looked like the bass needed a neck adjustment. He loosened one truss rod that was towards the G and C strings. After bringing it home and have played it for a while. I think its was too high. I turned today both truss rods clockwise. The one near the B,E about 1/8 turn and the other about 1/4 or perhaps a little more. It seems better but compared to my 4 string it styill needs to come down. I just dont know if I need to turn one or both. Thanks for advice.
