hi, i decided to make my own bass since i cant seem to find the one i am lookin for. i know its crazy to play luthier, but i am a crazy man.
my father, old man, has been a ebanist (wood worker) all his life and its willing to help me, but he never did a musical instrument, so its gonna be tough, but i am determined and its a long-run project. so im afraid youll see me quite often around here asking questions...
first of all i want to have EVERYTHING planned, an i know that even though ill have to face "construction issues" as i am doing it...
the first issue is that its gonna have to be a fretless, since i wanted it to be a neck-trough... or is there anyway i could fret it??? i also want it longer than 34" for extra string tension so it might be a pain in the ass if its fretless...
then im thinking about usin t-40´s pick ups for EXTRA power (any other idea? im a lover of LOW and FAT sound)
and then the body shape design... im really concern about the balance (
looking for a balanced/heavybody bass -- COMMUNITY HELP NEEDED)
so i wight have to have a long long uper horn...
as you can see the proyect its just starting, and im asking for ANY kind of idea. since information from existing basses that fit some of my "demands" to issues i´ll have to face that i am not aware yet, anything from your experience...
i want it perfect (im aware i might not get it... but i need to try my best, and then, try again)
