Making lines on lined fretless

If you wanted to lighten or brighten the lines on a lined fretless, what would you use?

I use black tapewounds on it as well, so I wouldn't want anything that would rub off onto the strings.

Thanks

I have to imagine that anything in the way of paint, ink marker or the like would wear through or rub off fairly quickly w/any use, unless you added a coat of some kid of finish. Of course if you were willing to coat it afterwards it wouldn't much matter what you used; I'd probably mask & paint w/whatever might work well w/whatever topcoat you end up using.
You could also go hog wild & completely redo the lines w/a more visible material.

I used a waterproof paint marker to black out the lines on mine. It works really well--I only have to reapply it every few months or so (which can coincide with string changes, cleanings, and the like).

I'm sure you can find a white one, or maybe something flourescent/day-glo, to brighten the lines.

Depending on the material, a vigorous buffing with fine scotchbrite (or steel/brass wool if you're brave) will make them pop. A lot of builders use maple for those lines and it will darken with time and finger grease.

Take it easy. You will be able to tell pretty quickly if it is going to work on your board.
