Making my brass bridge brass again...??

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a TRB5 with a brass (i think) bridge... over the years it has lost its brass shine a seems to have gone a normal metal colour.. with a slight blackness... is there any way to bring it back to its original state... im not sure if these bridges are solid brass??

any ideas...

If it was actually made of brass, then you go to any hardware store or home-goods store and get a bottle off brass polish. Cheap, easy, commonplace. I've even seen it at grocery stores.

If it was just some base metal plated with a brass-colored finish, then it's never going to look like new again, unless you have it stripped and re-plated... which would cost more than a new bridge.

yeah, are we sure it wasn't just gold-plating that's worn off?

a solid unplated brass bridge can get dull and dirty-looking, but it will always look like brass.
