(like: \)

A lefty guard wont work, as Wyrdo stated, because the edge of the pickguard is angled, or beveled. If you were to flip a righty PG over, there would be a gap between the body and the edge of the pickguard.
Can you give us a manufacturer? That would make it easier.

| | | | Pickguard debacle If you used Enamel it takes 30 days to completely harden and that depending on Temp and humidity is a guess. You cannot achieve the shine and luster of newly formed plastic with paint that you have access to. Two part Epoxy could but by the time you find someone to spray it and pay for it you might as well buy a replacementpickguard. PAINT, especially when it is going to be seen by others, and its' going to represent YOU. Is best left to a Pro with the know- how and equipment to perform the job. Finding someone who does know how is priceless! Many talk the talk; but few can Walk the walk. Good Luck, LightningDolt[ |

Painting a PG is almost always a very bad idea...and as you have learned, it's pretty much a one-way door. You can't go back through it with decent results.

Whatever the cost of a replacement pickguard, is how much a lesson learned, is worth.

At any rate, its likely you'll have to keep re-painting every so often as it will get chipped and smudge fairly easy... especially if you are a pick player.
Another idea is to take it off and completely cover it with some cool stickers.
In the end its probably best and cheapest (in the long run) to just buy a replacement pickguard. They are not *that* expensive.
