Marcus Miller input Jack

I am taking my used MM back to Daddy's (a New England chain) under their used warranty to have the input jack fixed.

Loud pops eminate from the amp when any cable is bumped at the jack.

I want to know how to be sure that I am getting the apropriate fix-- is the jack somehow connected to a switch for the pre? I saw a transistor wired at the jack, but I'm not sure what it's for. I'm just afraid that the shop will throw in a cheapie jack and somehow change either the functionality of the jack and preamp or change the sound of the electronics.

Thanks so much.

There is a third leg on the output jack that acts as a switch. Daddy's Junky Music is extremely reputable and their repair department will use the right part.

Thanks. It's always good to hear votes of confidence before taking something in. I have had good experiences with them, too.
