Unhappy messed up truss rod

Sign in to disble this ad
So, despite efforts to use the correct allen wrench to tighten the truss rod on my g&l l2000, the allen head seems to be stripped out.

no idea how this happened. I bought a new set of wrenches because none of metric ones were the right size, and the 1/8" one seemed to fit perfectly.

anyway, it's hosed.

how big a deal is this? is there a drop-in replacement part or does this require surgery?

and what could have caused this? the next larger size allen wrench in either english or metric is way too big for that hole.

You have to unscrew the nut (the allen head as you call it) and remove it and get a replacement. While you're at it get the right sized adjusting tool. I don't know exactly what size the G&L uses. Contact the factory. It's pretty easy fix if that's all the problem is. You can do it yourself.
