Messing with the truss rod.

My bass neck is a little concave, I need to make it straighter. I had a luthier mess with my bass before and he said to turn a certain way only so much, but I can't remember the details of what he said. Help?

Your neck should be a little concave. Most people set up their basses with a small amount of so-called neck relief. (Some people set up their bass necks perfectly flat, but most players prefer a small amount of relief.)

Read the stickies.
