Mexican bass neck joint :S

So when I was younger, I was stupid enough to buy a Mark Hoppus artist series bass. Still a huge Mark Hoppus fan, his sound is great but the quality of this bass, is not.

This thing (as I realise now owning a jap and a usa) is a piece of poop. The neck is curving back in midway (i do have a shim in their but thats made it play better) which makes it buzz like a bee from 3rd to 8th fret, the string-thru body is cool but the metal shims that make it the string entry look neat fall out all the time and now this!

Lettuce (aptly named) has been hanging up for a good month or two and when I came to play it I noticed these.

Either someones thrown my bass around or I'm going insane.

Thoughts?

I have a MIM Jazz that has never had an issue in the 9 years I have had it. Must have been a dud.

well mechanically it is fine, the truss rod works, it stays in tune and sounds amazing! just buzzes like a beehive. more time spending on it me thinks!

but these cracks are slightly worrying!

Looks like the body is falling apart.

It's probably about time to retire that bass. Either that or buy a new body.

took the neck off tonight, not in the body, just paint. not played this bass in months, maybe up to a year, sits in its case then i decided to get it out and hang it up, looks soo good imo.

gonna get as little use as possible. **** artist series guitars...extremely not happy...but my dead grandma put money towards it at the time so i couldnt ever dream of selling it.
