| | | | I've had a maple board jazz neck for a while now. It's pretty great! The fret job is awesome and the edges appear to be rolled. The neck is pretty stable too, the truss rod barely needed any tightening to get perfect relief.
The tuner holes are the same size as Squier VM necks.
You'll also have to drill all of the holes (except tuner holes) and apply a finish!!!!! I chose to use tung oil on mine to keep the natural feel.

| | | | I've got a MM j neck with a r/w slab and it's too big to fit the neck pocket on any of the MIM j bodies I have.
Got it in a (killer) trade because the guy didn't like the rough fret edges.
Frets were a bit rough on (both) edges but they cleaned up real nice so now all I need is a body with the right size neck pocket.

i would imagine that they are the "fender" size, but i would like to be sure.

The fit and finish has been spotty. The first neck I used was great, frets were good, no issues. The second one was in pretty bad shape. Really bad fret work, spotty finish. My luthier was able to fix it up to par pretty quickly though.

truss rod had actually broken free from its mount underneath the fretboard
| .....he ended up having to remove the truss and reverse it so it adjusts from the opposite end. He's an engineer by day and is extremely innovative. Neck is perfect now but in the future, I'll be using another company. And by the way, it now adjusts at the heel!

Just got my jazz neck from them and I must say... best neck I've ever played. Those guys also have really good service and they get your order done fast. everything is made to order and completely customizable. Ya it might be an extra 50-70 bone but WELL worth it in my opinion. I would at LEAST call them and get their opinion on your situation they are straight forward (they where with me).
From now on the only place I'm getting my neck/bodys from is USA Custom guitars.

I put it on my Squier P/J two weeks ago, and havent had to tweak the truss rod yet. Feels real nice. For the money, I dont think you can beat them.

I'd actually like the Warmoth in Wenge. I know, it's apples and oranges, but I like to make things difficult. Just something about $99 that really speaks to me. |

| | | | Mighty Mite necks are an exceptional value, but you do get what you pay for. Mine was completely playable, right out of the box, but the fret ends on the Jazz neck I bought were a little sharp and proud of the edge, the nut needed filing to make the lowest notes more comfortable to play, the fretboard edges were sharp (not rolled), and the finish was just passable. It's a $100.00 neck, though, and it's made in the U.S.A. With a little extra care, they can be made better. It fit the pocket well. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
