| Mighty Mite Neck Fitment Issues

Anyone ever had this sort of problem?
The neck heel on this Mighty Mite Neck just doesn't match up to the body of my MIM P-Bass.
What would be better to sand down, the neck or the body?
I've been fighting it off and on for about a year now, so I'm sure the return period is long over.
