Mighty Mite USA Retro-Fit Black Tuners???

Sign in to disble this ad
I hope this has not been discussed. I could not
find it with the search feature.

I want to put Black hardware on my Black Peavey
Fury. Even the fretboard is black on this USA bass,

It's got a B&G pup and it sounds great and it
plays like a dream. With these pups less than
1/4 inch from the strings, it has more girth
than a USA P bass.

I have found some Mighty Mite USA Retro-Fit Black
Tuners at a good price.

Question is,

Has anyone used them and are they any good???

Also,,, will they fit???

BLACK INLINE BASS GUITAR TUNERS FOR FENDER BASS | eBay

Also, I found a Heavy Brass Black Bridge. Does this
look any good???

BLACK BASS BRIDGE FITS FENDER JAZZ P BASS GUITAR A18 | eBay

Thanks for any any replies,

Tabdog

Those Mighty Mite tuners are repackaged chinese made ok quality. My Squier vintage modified jazz uses them, mine has chrome machines BUT the chrome is chipping off the worm gear. They are 18:1. Cast string posts/barrels. other sellers on ebay sell the same thing, no name, so take the lowest price you can find. They are definately not Hipshot quality!! But less than half the price.

They are metric sized though!

Different seller, same thing, better pics: BASS Guitar Vintage Clover Leaf Tuners 4 FenderŪ BLACK | eBay

different seller, no name, same thing: Bass Tuners, Elephant Type, Black, Right Hand,Set of 4 | eBay

Different product, 20:1 ratio, name brand, these will be nicer: 4 In Line Black Wilkinson Open Frame Bass Tuners | eBay

I have a set of these as an option, they are beautiful. But single screw, threaded ferrule mount.: Black Bass Guitar Tuners, 4 piece, For Fender bass | eBay

The bridge you show is fine, I have bought lots from that seller and it's all been very nice for the cash. That bridge will likely be fine, you seem on a budget and it will get the job done. Yours uses bent steel plate so the one you show will be heavier. I have bought a cast bridge from ebay for $30.00 and have seen the exact same bridges on $3000.00 basses!! Some guys will say that's impossible but it's true. That seller wraps his stuff in newspaper and pops it in a padded mailer, some have complained, but I have never had any damage; come on it's steel people LOL!!

You will have to drill new mounting holes for tuner screws and bridge.

I agree, the Wilkinsons are a nicer tuning machine than the mighty mites. I used them on My fretless P and they work great. Keep in mind the they aren't Hipshots or Gotoh, but they are still great tuners for the price and are IMO better than what comes on most factory built import basses. I think I have used a bridge like that on a bass I put together at some point, and it was pretty nice bridge for the price.

Thanks guys,

That is just the kind of info I needed.

I have pulled the trigger on the 4 In Line Black Wilkinson
Open Frame Bass Tuners and the bridge that was shown
in the link above.

I found this bass in a pawn shop, and I know the owner.
I paid $60 for it. It looked kind of bad (as in not good)

After I cleaned it up,

It turns out to be kind of a rare bass.

I replaced the stock pickup with a G&B Company split coil
pickup. That pup gives the Fury a new growly voice that
I fell in love with. You can see the new pup in my original
post. It doesn't have exposed poles. That even makes
it look better.

I think it is really going to be sexy with the new black
hardware and the new set of Black Beauty's I bought
for it.

Thanks again,

Tabdog

Just an up date.

I like the bridge. Down side is, it's noticeably heavier.

That don't bother me. It ain't much.

I think it even sounds better.
