| I think you can kill the mildew spores, but I'd be surprised if you can remove any stains. The reference cited above mentions bleach - you might be able to spot-treat, but I'd do it with a diluted solution and start with an inconspicuous test patch. Tweed fabric should be as easy to damage with straight bleach as any other fabric is.
