Unhappy Milestone 2 neck

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently got a used peavey milestone 2 bass. I tuned it up, but when I play the E string completely open, it rattles horribly.

What gives? Could it be my neck, because it does have a slight forward bend, but I can't adjust my truss rod, because the allen head is stripped.

By forward bend, do you mean the middle is bending towards the strings? If so, you've got backbow, and you need to adjust your truss rod to (partially) fix the problem.

You may be able to fix the truss rod by replacing the truss rod nut. You might want to have a tech look at it.

So where is it rattling? At the nut, or elsewhere? If you've got relief in the neck and it's buzzing on open notes, chances are your nut is cut too low and it's hitting the first fret.

Its raddling towards the nut. Ill post some pictures to help clarify, but towards the nut, the strings are close, but towards the last fret, they're far away
