Millennium tuner problem

Sign in to disble this ad
I need some help. I have a problem with the tuner on the D string on my fiver. This is a Peavey USA Millennium standard 5 with what I believe to be Gotoh tuners. I discovered the post that the string wraps around had become loose and the string was dangling with no tension on it. I could pull the post right out of the tuner. The bottom of the post seemed to be have a threaded insert (sorry, bifocals) and I was able to thread it back on, tighten it (clockwise) by putting a screwdriver thru the top slot and turning it. BUT when I tried to re-string, the tension from the counterclockwise string pull unscrewed the post and I was again left with no tension and I was unable to tune to D. Is there a quick fix, (Loctite?) is replacement needed, or ?? Any help would be much appreciated; I can do pics if necessary... Thanks/Petch
