MIM JAZZ 5 NUT??

Sign in to disble this ad
What online sites might I be able to order a precut, plastic or bone nut for my 2007 MIM Fender Jazz 5er? I went to my local shop and they said they had to order one, then when he called in they found out they have to order one and then cut slots into it once they get it and they cant say when it will arrive at store. The one on my bass now lets the E string, Chrome Flats, slip out of the slot. Store tech said nut looked like it had been filed down badly, got ths bass in a TB trade, no biggee, just wanting a new nut sooner. The E string slot is worn down so the string slips out each side of the slot. Any online sites carry MIM parts for Fender basses? Thanks in advance.

I doubt it and IMO this is not the way to go if i can be ordered. Take it to a good shop and have one hand cut from a bone blank and filed to your neck and string setup. I had two of my basses done this way both took a day and $30.00. a wise investment.

hey good call...

there is a better repair shop in south Houston, Rockin Robin, I need to go there next week so I'll take the bass and talk to them. Darndest thing, bought a new NV215 cab there at RR about 2 months ago and only used it about 4 gigs. Hooked it up today to rehearse for a gig this Friday and sounds like one of the 15's is burnt, just all kinda distortion from it. Tried diff cables, amps, basses, speaker cords, etc, sounds horrible. Dont recall pushing it that hard or hearing distort at any gigs I used it. Sorry, that's another thread, in another category.

Again thanks for the suggestion, I hope they can hook me up. I did plan to go to a bone nut while I had the chance. Uh, any advantage to a brass nut?
