Whenever I use a pick and pick an open A string fairly hard, I can hear the truss rod rattling within the neck. It only happens with the open A string. I put my ear up the neck and i can defintely hear it rattling. I normally wouldn't play that hard but just the fact that it's there is kind of annoying. I know it's not the strings hitting the frets either because I set the bass up so it wouldn't buzz.
I tightened the truss rod another 1/4 turn to see if maybe taking up some slack would get rid of the rattle but it didn't help. Is there a problem with my bass ? The truss rod seems to work just fine. Seems like this might be one of those Fender quirks i'll have to live with ?

If you're lucky, it's only one of your tuning machines.
try muting them with your left hand while picking.. happened to me.
no idea, what if it's really the truss rod..
