| MIM Jazz nut - flat or curved bottom?

A pretty straightforward question, I suppose. I managed to snag a dead-mint MIM Jazz over the weekend and am now planning on what mods I'd like to do, and in what stages of importance. First on the list are new tuners (I've already noticed more slop than any of my other basses excluding my first, a "Pro Session" P-copy... although it's not "awful", I'd like to get that fixed up), a new bridge (the "bended plate" has always seems cheap even at this price level, and I'm thinking of dropping in a Gotoh 201) and finally a Hipshot Bass Extender. New pups are second on the list, the third a trade or purchase of a maple 'boarded neck.
Ever since using a good deal of Eddie Jackson's playing in Queensryche to teach myself back in the day and learning the value to dropped-D, I've wanted a "D-Tuner". However upon my first 6 (I actually jumped to a six-string before a five) I've lived in the realm of extended-range basses and only recently rediscovered the joy in the simplicity of a four-string, especially in pickstyle playing. Thus, I can finally have an Extender to play around with. I'd like to replace the nut with a graphite one at the same time, however, and Warmoth offers both types. Sure, they're cheap enough that I could older both just in case (and will is no one knows for sure) but it's just as easy to ask here.
So thanks in advance to anyone that has perhaps done this before and can shed some light on the situation. |
