MIM pickguard question

just a quick question! will a American standard pickguard fit onto a Mexican Jazz? the diagrams look like they match but just wanted to check on here before i drop 80 bucks! on another note what colour guard would u recommend for a cream (off white) Mexican jazz? i'm looking at tort but i'm certainly open to suggestions!

they fit alright but don't line up perfectly... there will probably be some extra holes, specifically three...one directly above the neck pickup, one directly to the left and one just above that one...I put black tape( I have a black pickguard) on the reverse side so you couldn't see the hole. Functionally it is perfect. You can't even tell it is missing a few screws.

The mia pickups will fit on newer mim basses. I don't know what year they started routing them to the same size. I have a 2006 mim that will accept the standard Fender American jazz pickups. By the way Tort is always the right answer.

thanks for the help guys, im buying off WDMusic and the american standard pickguard they have does not have the holes around the pickup drilled just the ten holes around the pickguard so i think it should be a match, the bass is an '05 or '06 model.
yeah im looking at other styles but i keep coming back to the tort!
