Mod guides on the internet?

Maybe this is a weird question, but does anyone know of any good websites that give you instructions on how to do more advanced tweaks to your bass, such as putting in new pickups or switching out the pots? I did a search on the forum and didn't really find anything.

I was just curious because I'm thinking of buying a cheaper bass down the line to mod (just for fun and to have an extra backup bass), but don't really have any experience with it.
