Modding an HM4

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been thinking about modding the electronics on my bass for a while but I need some ideas before I do anything. It's a Fender HM4, so it has 3 J pickups, a volume and tone pot, and a 5 way pickup selector switch. I might be able to fit another pot in there if I route some of the cavity away and drill another hole through the top (rear routed, no pg) but I'd rather not.

One idea I had was to install a stacked pot for vol/tone and a blend pot or two for the pickups, then make the 5 way into a complicated series/paralell switch or something. Do stacked blend pots even exist? I could do without them but they'd help a lot.

Any ideas?
