Modding a neck pocket

I have a Squier P bass body I want to put a different neck on. The problem is, the neck pocket is a little to narrow. What is the best way to solve this problem? Can I just take a dremel to the pocket and sand away? Or is their a preferred method to do this?

I thought sure I replied to this one yesterday. Ok, here goes again. If you can widen the neck pocket just enough so new neck fits and the screws for bolting it on line up correctly, then no problem to do the widen pocket a little. If however the screws thru neck wont line up with the holes in neck pocket, its gonna be problematic.
