Modulus Neck

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

Ever heard of the Musicman Cutlass? Well, in the early days it had a Modulus made neck. Flea used to use them. So, I was wondering if Modulus are any good (right now I'm going for Status). Also, I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO BUY MODULUS NECK!!!!! help?

Thx

Koi

I'd run that one by a Modulus authorized dealer to see if they can get one for you. I found one of their necks used at a shop that deals Modulus - I think the guy who traded it in decided to swap a fretted neck back on his Modulus bass, so they ordered one for him.

I tried a Status several years back and honestly adored the thing. It was super playable and the sound just flew out of it. Anyway, I got around to putting my fretless neck onto an idle Jazz and even without frets, the neck is just supercharged. I think that the graphite doesn't absorb any vibrations so they all go out through the pickups. The neck is super solid, the shape is about as perfect and playable as I could imagine any Jazz neck could be, and it came with three different sets of bolts. It swaps onto a body with individual bolt inserts or has different bolts to work with a conventional neck plate.
