Moses Graphite and ABM

I'm considering taking on the task of building a custom bass using a Moses Graphite Steinberger 5 string neck and ABM black headless hardware.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these parts? I've heard good things about the Moses stuff. I haven't heard much about the ABM material, but I'd guess it must be good if Moses is offering it with their necks.

Does anybody have specs for that particular neck pocket? I'm considering using a Warmoth body blank if the neck pocket is somewhat similar.

Also, is their much difference tonally between carbon and graphite? Is their anyone that builds a headless carbon fiber neck for around the same cost as the Moses?

In case you're wondering, if I get the money, it'll be a Moses neck, swamp ash body, natural finish, Nordstrand MM5.3 wired passive V/T with killswitch and coil tap on front, V/T and jack on back plate.

Thanks in advance!

Have you ever tried a Moses neck compared to a Modulus? There's a big difference in strength, sound and feel. I think you should find some where to try one before spending the money.

Man made material is also a little challenging to work with. Drilling those holes for the inserts is not a job for beginners.

Oh yeah, and AMB stuff is good stuff. Expensive, heavy duty stuff. I've used their bridges for years.

I think they have the market cornered on Steinberger replacements.

Do a global search on this site and you'll find plenty of solid information about graphite necks like Zon, Modulus, Status, etc.
