Musicman Stingray Problem

Sign in to disble this ad
My friend was messing around on my 2005 Musicman Stingray and he didn't realize how short the cable was and basically the cable got yanked and all of a sudden my bass has extremely low output and the preamp does not work at all.

I was thinking that the problem probably lies in the input jack and was hoping someone who may have had a similar experience could verify this. I don't want to call Ernie Ball and buy a new input jack and then find out that that's not the problem.

So anyone have any ideas/verifications on what the problem is?

(I've checked the battery multiple times so i'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with that)

maybe just open up the bass so you can see the inside of the input jack and just bend the pins back into the middle so they contact on ur jack better.

maybe it just bent the pins when the cable was yanked out?

+1 you should check the jack. They're plastic housing and it might have cracked, or the pins may have bent, or solder joints may have been compromised or broken.

My friends can't touch my SR5. Maybe that's why I have no friends, just basses that work.
