Musicman SUB neck problem?????? Damm!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok. Here is my problem I bought a Musicman SUB.(used of course but in exellent shape). It has great entonation in all the neck and no dead notes. The only problem that I founded was a little fret buzz on the second string third fret. It had a very low action like I want in a bass. I move the truss rod of the neck a little bit (release) to check If I can fix the problem. (just a little bit,,believe me) and boooommm!!!! Now it has a fret buzz on the third string 15 fret too!!! DAmm it,,I return the tross rod to its original place again and the problem persist but now I have two problems istead one. What can I do? I owned more than 15 basses but all of them cheap basses and I work with the neck carefully and don't have problems like this before. Buuuttttttt this is my first expencive bass in long time and I am littlle scare to work with it. I know that I hear stupid but I don't think that I can buy another bass in long time and I want to do the best for this one.

Does the buzz effect the tone when it's amplified or just when you play it unplugged? Sometimes you gotta live with a little fret sizzle to get the action you're looking for. Work with the string saddle height in conjunction with truss rod adjustments. But sometimes instruments just need fret work. (Don't try fretwork yourself, take it to a professional.)

If it were me, I would live with a little fret buzz if it didn't severely affect the amplified tone. You can always try playing softer too. That helps a ton with fret buzz.

I think that the sound of the fret buzz in the second string third frett just afect when I slap (i used to slap a lot) but now the other fret buzz on the third string 15 fret afect sound terrible when the bass is plug into the amplifier.
