My 1st fret buzzes along all the strings. What way do I turn alan wrench?

Hello, my 1st frets are buzzing along all the strings and my low C and F string (we tune CGCF) buzz on the 1st 3 frets. I am pretty sure I can adjust this in the head of the neck with an alan wrench. Is this a easy fix or should I take it local (they do it free). Also what should I beware of? How do I avoid intonation problems? thanks!

Loosen the T-rod a bit at a time. Even better is to go to the shop where they do it for free and ask them to watch. They'll probably re-intonate it after the adjustment.

You HAVE read the stickies about setup, riiiiight?

It's likely that you need to do a setup.

Hmmm ... buzzing that far down the neck isn't typically a matter of too little relief ... those buzzes usually occur up around the 7th or 8th fret ... how does the neck look when you sight it? I'd look at either a tall fret or a nut whose strings slot are cut too deep.

As long as you don't mess with the saddles your intonation won't change.
