My G-string is off!

What could cause only my G-string (none of the other 3 strings) to be fine one day and the next the intonation is off? I think its the intonation. Sounds in tune with other strings at one end of the neck but as I play high notes up top, its off. Could the string go bad and cause this? Could the neck be messed up or need adjustment? Im not familiar with setup but I dont see how only one string could be affected by a neck issue. Help.

I often find the A string on my bass is off after I take it out of its' gig bag. Clearly the tuner touched the bag & moved.

Where do you store your Bass?

adjust for proper intonation at the string saddle

The note fretted at the 12th fret should be the same pitch as the same string's 12th fret harmonic, and it should be exactly an octave above the open string's pitch.

Is that the case?
