Exclamation My K5 is picking up German radio!

Sign in to disble this ad
I was just sitting at my pc with my MTD K5 in my lap with the strings muted when I heard the unmistakable sound of German being spoken from my cab. I cranked up the gain, and sure enough, there it is. A woman and a man speaking German. What the F?
Damn passive pups!

hehe.. had the same problem with my old samick.. we were in this studio-building and my bass-amp was playing guitar. turned out that the guitarist next door had a wireless-kit that made my bass go boo-boo.

If it's a single-pickup Kingston, it really shouldn't pick up any noise since the pup is a humbucker. Could it be a shield problem with your cable?

I'd start here too: It is unlikely to be the pickup itself, more likely to be a wiring fault of some kind, and the most likely failure is usually the cable. Basic trouble shooting will be to eliminate everything external to the bass, then look inside. Start with the cable, then check your amp, then check the internal wiring. The pickup on that bass is very unlikely to be the culprit.

...oh yeah...

Ray Schulman rules!

Merry Christmas Gard!

I am going to troubleshoot it more today. I agree, it is probably not the bass. I am really starting to dislike my rig. Maybe time for an Eden makeover
