My new Bass is buzzing on the G string 12th fret. what should I do?
I have a very important gig on the 1st of December with my band Peyote Mothership at Born To Go.
Can I fix the problem my self or do I need to take it to professional.

Peace to all. BasseyFrog

you probably just need a new set of strings and a good set up. take it to a real tech

trussrod & action sticky thread...
ALL BASIC SETUP QUESTIONS ANSWERED HERE

If this is the only place you get buzzing, then this should be the only adjustment you need do... as there is no buzzing below the 5th fret, then the truss rod is fine...

you need to raise the G-string saddle a tad... if you got the Allen keys for the bass, then use the little one to turn each of the two allen screws at the G-string saddle clockwise a 1/4 turn... nothing more, nothing less... you must turn both the same amount... this should stop the buzzing at the 12 fret... if not, then just repeat for another 1/4 of a turn...

If the bass is still buzzing at that fret, then take it to be looked at... the fret itself might be loose.

+1 .... I couldn't agree more. probably just a tiny little adjustment should do it.

I also wanted to say -Orbitor Journey- The Purity of that look, is a great song bro. That's a good mix you have on your voice.

excellent!

could be a high or lifted fret...check out the fret rocker at stew mac...I use something similar made from a metal straight edge cut into 3 pieces...

I had the exact same problem on my bass when i bought it, the buzzing was up at the 19th fret, the tech at the store i bought it filed up a couple of the frets on warranty, cost me nothin!

if it's a setup problem, i'd personally ask them to set it up, IMO if someone sells you an instrument it's nice for it to be setup and in working order i spose, especially if you fork out good money for it

If it's just one fret, I'd say it's likely not an action issue, but either a bad fret or bad string.

I bought a set of EB's a while back, the G string buzzed just on the 9th fret. I found this very strange so I switched the string and the problem went away. Defective I guess.
