My own personal Bass of Doom.

Being a huge Jaco fan, and since I'm too cheap to go out and buy my own fretless, I took one of my old basses and removed the frets. I had barely any wood splinters, and I fixed those with some special wood glue that called for such an occasion. But now I have to fill in the cracks epoxy and add a layer or three on the fretboard. Does anyone have any expierence doing this, and if so, where can I get the right substance to pull this off?

PS-rosewood fretboard, since it will probably make a difference.

At the top of the page there is a sticky called "Defretting." There are three hundred forty three replies. Plenty of opinions and much experience there.

there is a great article in Bass Player a year ago on using superglue to epoxy the neck.

This has been done by a few TB members. You can probably find posts by searching.
