My A string "buzzes"

I think the nut is loose, because thats where the buzz comes from the part of the string between the (insert name here for bolt the string wraps around) and the nut. I can feel it vibrating and I know this is the cause. How can I fix this?

I think there's something wrong with my Nut, the G string is way too tight.

It sounds like you might have cut the string too short and it is not getting enough wraps around the tuner post to hold it down in the nut causing the Buzz

I have this problem to on my TBC. I found that it was a lack of downward pressure on to the nut, i haven't had a chance to fix it yet but i guess a change of string and better binding around the peg will do the trick

I have this problem on my Peavey Patriot, and in my case it is also due to lack of downward pressure between the nut and te tuner, but in my case, it doesn't seem to matter how many times I wrap it, it's like the headstock is tilted in just the wrong way. I'm thinking about getting a Hipshot three-string string tree and kicking out the stock one used for the D&G strings. Anyone have any experience with these units?

Also the string tree that comes on the Peavey Millennium (I think that's the one) is cool as it is a bar that goes across all four strings. Anyone know if you can buy those by themselves? I checked eBay and the Peavey site.
