Slide them out, put some masking tape around the holes to protect the finish, then put some super glue in 2-3 spots around the interior of the hole on the sides. By putting it inside the hole rather than the inserts, you won't scrape glue off the insert onto the finish when re-installing the insert.

Once the super glue is applied, immediately strip off the tape (so it won't get caught under the lip of the insert), re-install the insert and tap the insert gently into place - get it right, because it's not going to move again without work.

Worked for me on loose inserts for a 3-point Epi bridge.

And don't drown it in glue - a few points of application around the inside of each hole are enough.

if you're nervous about superglue around your bass (you should be if you're not used to using it), just pull both inserts out, smear them liberally with wood glue, jam them back in and wait a day before re-stringing. (wipe up the excess before it dries, of course.)

I had the exact same problem with my tbird (seems to be a pretty common problem). I used a little bit of gorilla glue on the inserts and it worked like a charm. Just remember a little dot does alot.
