nasty buzz only on 15th fret - A string

i am getting weird buzz only on the 15th fret of the A string, the string height is a little raised as compared to the other strings but its still choking up the note. its a new bass, could it be a bad fret?

Sounds like it.... if it's only on that fret, on that string.

Also, check if the 16th fret lets the string breath when the 15th is pressed (that fret will be too high compared to the 15th fret if that is the problem).
