neck or bass problem?

Hey guys i have kinda a weird problem it may be a newbie question though for all i know here goes,

i play on a fender P bass as my main player, and its a great bass as many of us p owners know, however the problem comes to this, when i am at my parents house i have an Austin AU850WR bass, i love it to death since it was my first bass but every thing i play on there is always 2 frets lower than the p bass (ex. if i play on 4 on the low E on the fender i have to play on 2 on the low E for the Austin.) I know the basses are tuned the same (at least they say so on the tuner) but is there a way i can fix this so i dont have to play 2 frets down every time?

You're either using 2 different tuners, one of which is broken, or one which you aren't reading properly.
If the tuner is hard to read, buy a new one or get a tuning fork or a pitch pipe to get you into the ballpark before you try and tune with the tuner you have.

Wow, I typed tune a lot.

One or both of your basses is out of tune. You're doing something wrong. Better get a guitar player to show you how to tune it.
