I have a Fender RB4 with a glossneck finish. Is there a safe way to get a satin feel? The glossy at times is sticky

i used one of those green pads .... they kind you clean the stove top with ...

used to use them on my pool cues to keep them nice and slick ...

works fine on back of necks .... rub gently .... lightly ...

that souned a little strange ..!!

i 've found them to be less messy than 0000 steel wool ...

Ditto.

ScotchBrite pads (or the generic equivalent) work as well as #0000 steel wool but without the mess (steel threads stuck to the pups). Use a light touch! FWIW, ScotchBrite pads work even better on oil-finished, open-grain woods like wenge and purpleheart.
