Neck Replacement for Yamaha RBX 250

Sign in to disble this ad
I've owned an Yamaha RBX 250 since 1994 or 1995. This was my first bass and it met it's demise when I came home one day to find the neck snapped in half and thrown behind a recliner in the living room.

That was about 6 years ago now and honestly, I never found out who did it.

I used it in college as my main bass and even though it's known to do only two tones, I was able to do more/find more as my skill progressed.

I have access to a shop where I can drill and fit a neck, I'm just wondering what I need to consider when I'm replacing a neck on a bass. I believe this is a short scale bass as well so I'm assuming the neck pocket is more shallow than a regular neck would allow.

Honestly, if a mighty might can just be slapped on there I'll do it. I'm selling off my main axe's right now and need something to fall back on, I figured why not resurrect it

So really,

Hoping someone will chime in with some experience on an RBX 250. Also, I am interested in buying a set of necks for this, fretted and fretless. All input will be appreciated.
