Neck twist

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought this bass recently but didn't have time to even touch it for months and just recently I noticed this neck twist. I adjusted the truss rod and the bridge so there's no buzz at all and the action is not that high so the bass despite the twist is quite playable. I am not asking how to fix this, since I did a search on the forum and found plenty of info and I see that this is either non-fixable or very costly to fix. So my question is, would it be OK to ask from the company that made the bass for a replacement neck at a reasonable price. I bought this bass used and have no idea how this twist happened. Maybe the bass was exposed to temperature changes or maybe some other mishap did it, but either way I do believe that the company that made the bass should take a part of the responsibility for this, cause after all it's not a cheap bass.
It's an Aria IGB Exo and here's a pic.

Like pnut166 said, it can't hurt to ask. What country are you in? You could either contact ariausa.com or perhaps ariauk.com or ariaguitars.com if you are outside of the US.

Thanks. I emailed both ariausa and ariauk today asking for a replacement neck and so far the guys from UK replied asking me for the exact model number of the bass or at least a photo in full. I sent them the photo and now I am hoping that they have replacement necks. Also hoping for a reasonable price.

My problem is solved after I contacted ariauk.com and I'll be getting a new neck for £85 - £100 soon. Just wanted to share this with you all especially Aria users who might need help from the company. A technician called Lee Burt is one of the nicest people on earth and if he can help you, he will. This world is a better place with people like him. On the other hand ariausa.com never replied to my email.

FWIW A few years ago I local shop started a line of Aria's and had a really nice 4 stringer with nice woods kind of looked like a sexier Warrick. He game me a good price to move it and see what I thought. It had major issues in the bridge and grounding isssues so I contacted Aria. They were super to work with and sent another bass for me to the shop overnight.
The new bass was as bad as the first but I got full refund and Aria's CS was very good.

Wow, that's a pretty serious twist.

My Warwick Corvette 5-ver had a twist you could hardly see with the naked eye, and they replaced the neck for free after owning the bass for over a year. Good customer service.

Glad to see things sorted out like this.
