need help with Setup

hi guys,

i have a fender jaguar with a stock fender string and since its a little worn out. I went to change a brand new D'Addrio 170 on those.

It turns out that it was so low touching the frets that it produces lots lots of buzzing frets sound. What I do is by tweaking to increase the saddle on the bridge. After lifting them high enough I managed to produce 4 open strings without any fret buzz at all. However, at this point, the strings are hung pretty high and the action is really not playable since its way too high.

Anyway I can fix this? or should I throw this set and get another fender string set?

thanks man!

johan

You need to loosen your truss rod. Do so by turning the truss rod (bit by bit) counter-clockwise.

These new strings you are using are lower tensin then you old ones. Therefore the trussrod is pulling the neck into backbow. There is a sticky up there about set up and i recommend you read through it. Hope that helps.
